20 JANUARY
FAMILY last performance at the Nasjonalmuseet
Oslo (NO)
The site specific project of Family at the National Museum of Oslo is coming to its end. The last performance of this exciting cycle will take place on January 20th at 12:00 and at 14:00.
Family is a performance focused on the passage of time inside the museum and outside it, involving a family. The work, performative and singing, enters into dialogue with the collection and is conceived as a live artwork with a non-definitive form. On a regular basis for several years, a family with singing skills is invited to move freely through the Museum, choosing and singing the titles of their favorite works in the collection. The family is selected through an Open Call and is open to any relationship that can contribute to this new definition or in-definition of family: marital and non-marital ties, not necessarily procreative, both biologically and non-biologically related families, extended families, new affections, as long as multiple generations are involved. Family goes beyond blood ties and expands to a more contemporary and broader concept of affection and sharing.
